Letting Go

Getting over someone sucks! It's so hard! In the beginning you think about them all the time. Everyday. Eventually it gets less and less. You think your finally over them and then bam! You hear a song, or go to a place, or see something that reminds you of them. And then the emotions come back and you are sad. The realization that you will never see them again hits you like a ton of bricks. It's so overwhelming that you can't breathe. It's times like this that I remind myself that everything happens for a reason. If something is meant to be then it will happen. God has a path for all of us. We just have to trust him and trust ourselves. Saying goodbye to someone is never easy. It might be a daily battle of letting go. Here are a couple of quotes that help me: “Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened.” – Dr. Seuss “There are things that we never want to let go of, people we never want to leave behind. But keep in mind that letting go isn’t the end of the world, it’s the beginning of a new life.” – Unknown.
Here's to the continual battle of letting go...

My Type

People always talk about their type. What type of person they are attracted to, what type they date, what type they don't date, and yada yada yada. I always pictured my self with a certain type of person: tall, charming, intelligent, sports fan, manly, mysterious, and quiet. It's funny because the type I'm with and the type that I've dated in the past are complete opposite of that. Does that mean I'm wrong about my type? Are my expectations unrealistic? Do I really know what I want?

Obligations

Sometimes the line between what I should say and what I want to say gets blurred. I often find myself saying what I think I should say rather than what I'm actually feeling. I don't know what's worse, lying or being honest in certain situations. I think at some point or another we all lie to ourselves, but how often are we honest with ourself? Just a thought...

A New Year, A New Me!

Well it's 2012. Time for resolutions. Here are a few: lose twenty pounds, own my own place, leave work by 4:30 three times a week, talk and see my family more often, have more sex, run a 5K, be more decisive, go to church regularly, and have more girls nights.

I'm Back!

It's been so long since I've blogged!  I'm too exhausted to write anymore tonight, but I am determined to write weekly in this blog!  So much to say, but not enough energy.  Until then...

More Gaganess!

Okay so I went with my little sister to the Gaga concert.  It was about two hours away from our city, so we decided to make a trip of it and stay the night in a hotel.  After driving, listening to our mixed CD we made specially for the trip (I know we are dorks :p), we made it to the hotel.  After only being in our room about five minutes, we had to call the maintenance man because we thought our faucet was broken.  Turns out we are stupid and couldn't figure out how to operate it, which he kindly showed us.

After getting ready we made it to the event center.  I only wish I had a flip camera or could take pictures of all the crazy people and costumes we saw.  There was also this crazy excitement feeling in the air.  We were sitting on the lower level to the right of the stage.  There were three rows in front of us and we were at the end of the row.  Next to us were bars and the pit/road crew area.  We were very happy with our seats.  We watched as they cleaned Gaga's microphones and set up the stage.  We also talked to the roadies and they gave us batteries for our cameras and extras.

While everyone was taking their seats there was music playing and a DJ.  The DJ was really weird, running around the stage and dressed in some cave-like costume.  I'm also pretty sure she was drinking whiskey.

The opening act was Semi Precious Weapons.  They were awesome.  The lead singer was crazy.  After the first song he took off his pants, revealing his fish net tights, shiny high-heeled boots, and um er other things.  He was also wearing makeup and had his neck painted blue.  He really got the crowd energized and ready for Gaga.  Some of their cool songs were Freeze Booze, Fuck the Dance Floor, and I Can't Pay My Rent but I'm Fucking Gorgeous.

Finally Lady Gaga came out.  She definitely didn't disappoint.  She sang all of her popular songs and some new ones of her unreleased album.  Her voice was strong and amazing.  The set was incredible with all kinds of crazy props and backgrounds.  She also had some very cool and interesting costumes.  The one she wore the most was a bra top and black tights.

I was pretty nervous at the beginning about taking my little sister to the concert.  She is in high school, however, I didn't know how graphic or sexual the concert would be.  That being said, it was an amazing concert and she had a great experience.  There was some cussing, but nothing she hasn't heard from peers or TV.  There was a little sexuality in the concert, but again my sister is in high school.  Gaga was very positive and her overall message was about loving and accepting yourself.  Her first title of her new album, Born this Way, was the theme of the concert.  She was so positive as she talked to the audience and was so interactive and caring with her fans.  If there was one person in there that didn't love her before the concert, she changed their mind afterwards.  It was such an awesome experience.  It made me like her so much more.  Yes she has some crazy, attention getting antics, but you can't deny her energy and forward thinking.

The next day we went shopping, got pedicures, and took a detour to see the Shrine of Baby Jesus.  The trip was a great bonding experience and gave us many memories and inside jokes.  Can I have some sugar? ;)
